Smoke Free Society’s
First Annual Physicians Advisory and Recommendation Committee (PARC)
conference was held on May 24, 2006 at the new Seacoast Bank Center
on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In attendance were
founders, Rez and Linda Seyedin; Greg Leach, President of Seacoast
National Bank and Chairman of the American Heart Association of
Florida and Puerto Rico; Dr. Leonard Rosenbaum, PhD, psychology,
Maryland; Prof. William Rosenbaum, professor of psychology and its
industrial application, New York Institute of Technology; James
Tucker, motivational and empowerment speaker, writer, columnist
for The Hometown News; Michael Abramowitz; Elizabeth Hoffmann, health
teacher and philanthropist, Palm Beach, Florida.
The Founder and the
President of Smoke Free Society, Rez Seyedin, welcomed and presented
the board with the organization’s accomplishments for the
past year and his agenda and vision for 2006-2007. He welcomed and
encouraged the members and guests to continue with their valuable
support and input for this most important cause of the 21st century.
Mr. Leach also welcomed
the committee and the guests and stated its historical significance
that on this day, Wednesday, May 24, 2006, the First Annual Physicians
Advisory and Recommendation Committee (PARC) was held at
that location. He further stated his continual support of this important
cause and encouraged others to do the same.
Dr. Rosenbaum and
Prof. Rosenbaum were very attentive and interested in Mr. Tucker's
motivational and uplifting presentation that he has planned for
Smoke Free Society's seminars. James's column, "The Spirit
Guide" is published weekly in the Hometown News from Daytona
to Palm Beach Gardens with over 1.15 million weekly readers. He
is author of many books and numerous articles.
Dr. Rosenbaum who
has completed his post doctorate in addiction and substance abuse,
offered views on smokers' psychological dependencies, learning behaviors,
associations and clinical treatments and applications of the treatment
as well as solutions.

The members and the
invited guests participated in a roundtable discussion and offered
suggestions on improved ways to address smokers’ needs and
desires to quit and stay quit.
The first annual
conference was a huge success as it brought the members and guests
together to discuss the issues such as current behavior modification
smoking cessation methods and possible future methods and integrations.
