Questions
about our plans, products and services
Do
I need to get a prescription for your plans/products?
No. Unlike many
nicotine replacement products, our effective plans don't use any
drugs and don't require a prescription. However, we highly
recommend that you consult your physician or a healthcare specialist
before you quit smoking. Keep in mind that no amount of
information and/or products can replace the advise of a doctor or
healthcare professional.
Do your
stop smoking plans work?
Yes. The
plans work and are carefully designed to help you quit smoking.
Quitting is not easy, it takes hard work, determination and a commitment
on your part. Weaning you off of nicotine is the first step of freeing
yourself from the habit that reinforces your need to smoke.
Can
I smoke if I wake up at night?
Not if it is before or
after your usual time of DAY you used to smoke. The only time you
should be smoking is when your Daily Recording says to. This period
is between your first and last times you determined were your average
times of day you first smoked and when you smoked your last cigarette.
The times must never change. It is very important that you do not
smoke before the set time of your first cigarette or after the set
time of your last cigarette, even if you decide to get up earlier
or stay up later.
(For example, if
you now have your first cigarette at 7:00 a.m. and have your last
cigarette at 11:00 p.m., your first cigarette time must always be
at 7:00 a.m. and your last cigarette time must be before or at 11:00
p.m. It is very important not to smoke before 7:00 a.m. or past
11:00 p.m.)
What
should I do if I miss one of my scheduled cigarettes?
If you miss a cigarette at
any given cigarette time, you must wait until your next cigarette
time to smoke your next one. The two main purposes of this technique
is to break your psychological association with smoking –
breaking your habit - while gradually weaning you off of nicotine
to reduce your carving -- physical addiction.
Do
I need a support system?
Yes. Many
smokers have expressed the need for a support system to help them
with their quitting. That is why we recommend a support system that
begins with friends and family and advice from smoking cessation
professionals to help you with any questions along the way. Our
6-week daily email support is an easy and effective way to receive
support.
Do your plans eliminate my cravings for
cigarettes?
Our plans include
the necessary steps and programs to help you evaluate, prepare to
quit, quit and stay smoke free. Keep in mind that there is no silver
bullet out there that can cure your habit and addiction without
total discomfort, but our effective plans will help to relieve your
physical discomfort when trying to break your nicotine addiction.
By slowly weaning you from the nicotine, you won't experience the
withdrawal symptoms as severe as if you quit smoking cold turkey
altogether.
How do I activate
my Daily Email Support Program™?
If you are using one of our plans that includes our Daily Email
Support Program™, you will be prompted to activate it once
you have passed the R-U-Ready? Test™. This way, your Daily
Email Support Program™ will correspond with your quit date
and your use of the Proven Stop Smoking Technique™. |

Smoking
and Quitting-Related Questions
What
should I expect while I quit smoking?
Contrary to common
belief, quitting smoking is not easy and requires the mindset and
acknowledgment of the process in order to be successful. Our plans
walk you through the process. However, you will still need to prepare
yourself for some nicotine withdrawal symptoms. You may experience
any of the following: craving for nicotine, anxiety, irritability,
restlessness, mood changes, nervousness, headaches. Our plans offer
suggestions on how to cope with these symptoms. Many of our quitting
plans include 6 weeks of daily email support that is designed to
help you along with your quitting and these symptoms. However, since
our plans slowly wean you from the nicotine, you won't experience
the withdrawal symptoms as severe as if you quit smoking cold turkey
altogether.
I
have tried quitting smoking several times and always fail. Is my
willpower just not strong enough?
Don't be so hard
on yourself. The success rate for smokers who try to quit cold turkey
is a dismal 5%. But the difference now is that we have a variety
of effective stop smoking plans that increase your chances of success
by weaning you off gradually and lessening those terrible withdrawal
symptoms: irritability, trouble concentrating and hunger.
