Smoke
Free Society Helps Smokers Quit, Live Longer
By Meredith Lane, UK
Nonprofit
group promises to help smokers quit in just 17 days without
the aid of any substance or drug.
It’s
one of the deadliest weapons of mass destruction… and
you can buy it at your nearest convenient store.
The weapon is tobacco — and it’s
killing more than seven people every minute. That’s
more than 3.7 million people every year.
More
Americans die from cigarette-related illnesses than car accidents,
AIDS, alcohol, suicide, homicide and illegal drugs combined,
and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
approximately 80 percent of adult smokers started smoking
before the age of 18. That’s 3,000 children that become
regular smokers every day. Now more than five million children
living today will die prematurely because of a decision they
will make as adolescents — the decision to smoke cigarettes.
Fortunately,
there are people out there trying to help others kick their
bad habits. The Smoke Free Society Corporation is a nonprofit,
charitable organization dedicated to educating children about
the dangers of smoking in hopes that they will never start,
providing information and techniques to help smokers of all
ages quit smoking (the single most important factor in their
children’s and their own future,) and promoting a healthy,
smoke-free lifestyle for all of society.
Unique
Plan Helps Smokers Quit
Smoke
Free Society’s website, www.smokefreesociety.org,
educates smokers about their addiction and dependency to smoking,
as well as offers them advice on how they can plan and carry
out their dream of a smoke-free life. And for those people
who think it’s too hard to quit, get this: More than
45 million smokers have kicked their bad habit just in the
past decade!
Many
stop-smoking aids such as nicotine patches, nicotine chewing
gum and hypnotism already exist so what makes their method
so different from everything else on the market? Smoke
Free Society offers many free, exclusive stop smoking plans
that help smokers quit in just 17 days without the aid of
any substance or drug. “How is that possible,”
you may wonder?
The
core technique was developed by their founder and benefactor,
Rez Seyedin, in 1985 to help himself and his employees stop
smoking. He has further developed many effective plans around
the technique which are based on their three-step
principle: prepare, quit and get support. His belief
that everyone in society should get involved in making our
world a healthier place has saved many lives and it will save
many more . . . with your help! "If we want to make real
difference, we must all work together to help our loved ones
quit smoking and stay smoke free," said Rez.
The
Cost of Smoking
Smoking
doesn’t just have negative effects on your body, but
also on your wallet. The amount of money smokers spend on
tobacco products every year is astounding. For example, someone
who smokes a pack a day spends about $4 every day to pay for
their habit. That may not seem like a lot of money, but it
adds up to $1,460 a year!
If
you include the other hidden costs of smoking such as higher
health insurance, loss of time and energy, lighters, air freshener,
mouthwash, extra laundering and dry cleaning, and the hospital
bills you will eventually have to pay due to the health problems
tobacco has already been proven to cause (just to name a few),
you could be spending up to $40 per day on your habit. That
translates into more than $14,000 a year. Aren’t there
a lot of things you’d rather do with $14,000 than throw
it away on something that could eventually kill you or your
loved ones?
"It not only costs the smoker money, but it costs their
employers an extra $9,300 a year for each smoker they employ!
More and more employers can't afford to hire smokers. Would
you?" said Rez.
Save Lives and be hero
Smoke Free Society is looking for volunteers to help them
carry on their mission of making the world a healthier place
— one smoker at a time. Volunteerism is one of the best
ways to give back to the community. And whether you do it
just because you love helping others, or for the self-satisfaction
it brings, Smoke Free Society wants to give you the opportunity
to do it from comfort of your dorm or where ever and whenever
you want!
An excellent part-time Volunteer program for young people
the could lead to a great full-time career in the smoking
cessation field, or just a productive and rewarding way to
spend a few hours every week. It's also a great project to
work on with family and friends.
As a volunteer, you help bring awareness as well as providing
Smoke Free Society’s stop smoking plans and products
to those who want to quit smoking. The more smokers you reach,
the more lives you save. Also, you help their educational
programs for kids so that they are made aware of the dangers
of smoking at the earliest age possible and so they never
start.
Thanks
to the power of the Internet and technology, volunteers have
the freedom of being able to work their own hours, making
volunteerism attractive to people who need flexible time,
such as students or people with other full or part-time jobs.
Other volunteer and paid Associate work is also available.
Smoke Free Society needs volunteers and paid Associates to
help reach smokers and their loved ones and help them quit.
